Try Tremclad (made by Rustoleum). Use their Galvanized metal primer, and top coat with any colour you like. Don’t worry about removing the rust!

No it wont, it still affects the gums the same as a metal one

You can stop further corrosion by cleaning it using 90% isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush, but you won’t be able to reverse it.
