how can I keep metal from rusting outside?

How can I keep my metal trellis (painted white) from rusting outside?
I bought it last week & it’s already starting to get that orange-ish rusty color….it’s been raining a lot, so sometimes when it stops raining a little, I scratch the rust off….does that help?

Best way to repaint slightly rusty zinc-galvanized steel?

I am taking over an ageing galvanized steel structure that is beginning to show some rust. I’d rather not use passivating nitric acid paints, as I am afraid they might further spoil the remaining zinc coat.

NASE certification you need to get in order to certify tank in all different areas, from tank corrosion to tank integrity. We do tank removal and installs and other environmental work and would like to get into this.
