Rustoleum on a car’s undercarriage?

It’s getting close to winter here up in Wisconsin, and I’d like to protect my beater some from the salt.
Unfortunately, I am in graduate school so I won’t have time to hit the undercarriage with a good rust-proof paint like POR-15, but at least for this winter (or at least until winter break) can I [...]

Which opening would you rather read?

Opening one:
As Violet sat on a branch of a tree, she thought about what life would be like if she and her family were happier and richer. Her lips curled into a resentful smile, knowing that it would never come true.
A gust of wind snapped a twig from the tree, making Violet come back to [...]

Wire metal to another metal with a higher or lower Standard Reduction Potential to prevent Corrosion?

Really, thats the entire question, which will corrode first, the one with the larger or smaller SRP?
I’m not sure that that can be right, because of the following example
Metal X: .5V
Metal Y: -.5V
Something still has to corrode here, but they both have the same magnitude…
The one with the larger potential, either negative or positive value.

Exhaust/muffler rust?

While installing my rear muffler, i accidentally dropped it and scratched up the tip. Now there are chips, light scratches then are starting to show a little rust. I removed the rust with Naval Jelly, but is there anything I can do to coat it? or seal it without taking away from the shine?

The original caps used a somewhat [...]

Removing Rust & Spot Sandblasting

This Caravan has been repaired before and is starting to rust along the bottom edge of the door. It appears that someone has installed a door skin before and the didn’t do the best job in the world. The rust along the bottom can be removed but nobody can guarantee the rest of the door [...]

Welder repair and welding.wmv

This is an old welder weve had around for years. Most of the time I weld with a MIG but occasionally the job calls for a stick welder, for instance if you are welding with rusty metal or something painted stick welding is preferable as it will burn through the rust or paint where [...]

Fixing The Box Truck

The MJRS team service truck has a problem (well, a lot of them), the floors rusted away and the cab has fallen off. I crack open whats left of it and weld up a new frame rail and floor support. Now the cab fits again, the doors shut, and I can even add oil and [...]
