Note:If you have pitting (A condition where the rust starts to eat the metal and cause cavitation in the surface of the metal. When this is done you will have to send it out to a gunsmith to get it professionally done. The best way to prevent pitting is to prevent rust all together. Metal does rust though…so if you can protect the surface by taking out surface rust relatively soon…and protecting the finish with oil (I paint my waterfowling guns) you can avoid this all together.

As always make sure guns are unloaded before working on them and be safe!

The entire unit is 36′ long with extended vestibules. The shot blast system can be integrated with a paint line and cure oven. Painting a gun not only makes the finish look a lot better…but its cheap, and very rust resistant. It it only paint..and will scratch when it comes in contact with metal but I submerge this gun in sal water all the time and it doesn’t rust up. Highly recommended for hunters. Gunsmiths can and moan all you want “Oh you never paint a shotgun” But it all comes down to practicality. Is your gun made for show? Or do you actually take it into the field (Saltwater and corrosion) and use it? If you have questions just ask I have painted my H&R pardner pump and its held up great for 3 years now : )

Substrate is Wood and steel in a laminate. Was blasted at 50 PSI with recycled crushed glass with an Eco-Blast.Com H258-HO-LP All-Media Blaster. Glass was chosen because it would cut the coatings faster doing less damage to soft substrate. The metal would have needed a harder abrassive than soda in order to remove the rust.
