is it safe to spray wd-40 to prevent corrosion under the car, to nuts, bolts, engine trays, rotors, etc.?

not sure, if it will last, but since it penetrates and lubricates, hopefully it will stop further corrosion to the engine and transmission trays, rotors, muffler, all visible nuts, bolts, and other parts under the car. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
