Others I’ve talked to said the same thing worse mileage and lacks power.
There was one person I personally talked to who said they Knew someone who ran nothing but e85 in a nonflex fuel vehicle for 2 years with no problems. I couldn’t confirm this

Speaking from my own experience with using E85 in non flexfuel vehicles I’d say the tahoe wasn’t ran 98% of the time on E85. Generally the mileage and power loss gets worse with every fill of E85 starting about 65-75% reg gas efficiency down to a low of around 30-40% efficiency at this point the power loss is terrible with the vehicle barley able to pull itself.

The anti-ethanol people are probably working for the oil industry. Truth is, any sugar can be made into ethanol. Sugar beets, sugar cane, corn sugar, honey,,,, all we need to do is streamline the process and eliminate the processing for “food” grade sugar. Heck harvest the entire sugar beet and chop it up and ship it to the ethanol factory. Any part of the plant that has sugar in it goes in the vat, yeast ain’t that picky!

Why am I not surprised? Don’t we already know that alcohol cleans and don’t build up carbon like gasoline? Cars can last 3 times as long with ethanol. I’m assuming we need to show all of this because people were so brainwashed by the gasoline that even when they see how Ethanol is truly better, they have a hard time being convinced. I changed my mustang by adding 30% larger injectors, it runs fine so far, my next motor will be optimized for e-85, basically this means a much higher compression of 10:1 or higher, hicher compression and a good tune means almost no difference in mileage, yet considerable gain in power.

I have been using E10 on my 96 Pontiac Bonneville with the 3800 engine. It has over 210,000 miles. For maintenance all I have had to do is change the oil, the tires and the brakes. It runs great. I sincerely believe the ethanol removes buildup, reduces friction and reduces combustion temperature.
