    get it all sanded with 80 grit, then tape it off and put some epoxy primer on it… you can find this at your local paint and body shop supply store….

    hey cool you replied. ok. i’ll do that 80 grit. just thought it was a bit ruff on bare metal.

    anyways what do you do about flash rust? can i just use etching pimer on it? cause i can’t seem to work fast enough to wet sand and then dry and solvent. then tack and spray.

    what do you recomend?

    go to the auto paint supply store, buy some “AIRPLANE STRIPPER—Blue and White Can.. And follow the directions, if you have already done this,, you need to use a D/A sander, and some 80 grit sand paper—NOT 220 and 320,,, it has to be 80 grit… Thanks Pete,, and RELAX you’ll get it done!

    oh and after i …
    oh and after i stripped it it had some rust.

    so i tried to sand it with 220 , 320, and then wet sand with some 500 grit before puting some etching primer.

    but it keeps getting a rusty brown glaze on it beore the water even dries off.

    whats the deal on that? is it ok to spray over that kind of rust?

    what should i do?

    once you go to …
    once you go to metal. how do you take off the stubborn paint and primer that didn’t come off?

    (I work outside and don’t have a garage. so i think it gets dried out fast)
