Jensen 45 Steam Engine – Restored 2

Jensen model 45 Steam Engine, electric fired, made at the beginning of the Korean War (1952).
This is the only model made by Jensen in the “Candlestick” configuration and for sure they will never build them again. Mr. Jensen sr. didn’t like this engines too much, with a round heater and with the crankshaft going through the boiler itself, they were difficult to build,.
This particular engine is one of the few to have a brass boiler so I am very lucky.
Due to the war in Korea, brass was used for the war effort and was scarce. Because of that, the majority of this Jensen 45’s were made with steel boilers. Steel, water and heat is not a good combination so most of them are now rusted and no longer working.
This brass boiler engine was completely restored and it is working fine now. No leaks at all.
I was trying not to be so hard on the new paint so I was using only 80 VAC.
Heat inside the Heater came up to 230 degrees Centigrade, terrible hot; the boiler came up to 110 degrees Centigrade.
Enjoy!
