Does a volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) prevent metal from being oxidized/reduced?

Does a volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) prevent metal from being oxidized and/or reduced?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
FYI, I see a lot of people are posting their homework problems on Y!A. This isn’t a homework problem…I am trying to shield a metal from a reducing agent, and would like to know if a VCI would be able to do this. Thanks!

Yes sure vci will help you. Do let know your exact requirement and problem faced will ask my counterpart in US to get in touch with you.
