How to flush your outboard motor
http://www.reefari.com
how to flush your Outboard motor is a quick video clip on how to flush out your 4 stroke outboard motor with fresh water, after use in Salt water. If you’re using your motor in Fresh water dams or lakes no need to do this of course. But flushing your outboard motor is a good practice to get into every time you use your boat in Saltwater. This helps prevent corrosion to your motor and salt buildup in your outboard motor internals. Salt water is very corrosive and can corrode your outboard internals quite badly, and result in expensive repairs if not looked after. Also a good way to make sure your water pump is working as well.
With your new four strokes, the designs are excellant and most outboards from small to extra large 300HP models have this easy flush out facility. It is just a matter of screwing in a male hose fitting to the flushing inlet on the outboard motor and connecting to your garden hose. This saves mucking around with big buckets of water, or outboard muffs trying to do the same job.
