how to prevent cooling tower corrosion besides chemical treatment?

any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Most cooling towers are internally constructed of wood. The key is to treat water in such a way that it does not react with the lignin in the wood. The other problem is algae and fungus growing on the wood surface which reduces the heat transfer area. I am not sure what corrosion are you referring to. Below is a basic maintenance program.
